Made It!!

Made it here to beautiful Berry Creek, California and we have been here nearly two weeks now! It is gorgeous here in the Mountains! We are nearly unpacked and have been setting up home and shop.

Of course, I have made time for my dolls! I knitted the rectangles from my own hand spun yarns for these sweater type vests going across the USA and assembled and finished them here. These are my first official dolly pictures in our new yard.

Also, I plan to reroot new Blythe scalps for sale. I went ‘shopping’ in my Etsy store and selected some lovely pastels. Here is pictures of the first of many soon to be available scalps:

I’m so excited to be working with some of my premium doll hairs. I plan to make many of these scalps for sale!!

In between these tasty treats, I am almost done with a black sheep helmet for Blythe and am dyeing several custom colours for some lovely return customers.

I may be on a new Coast, but my dolly passion follows me everywhere!

Getting There

Well, in a total effort to get ready for the cross the Country move from Georgia to California in a pick up truck pulling a 6 x 12 foot trailer with my husband, 2 teenagers, myself, a dog and two cats, I have been committing the ultimate destash. All this is going, going, gone tomorrow.

But, although, I am doing a total reevalution of our belonging while packing, I do make time for dolls. I have some orange suri alpaca doll hair drying and multitude of pastels colours drying as well. I have these lovely green ones finished for a custom. The lady who has ordered these lovely lock is making a mermaid. I hope she sends me pictures when it is done. Love seeing!!

And, so many exciting things to talk about! To add to the glorious excitement, I have finished my Blythe reroot! So glad that I could get this done before we go. I still want to add her eyelashes. Mainly so I don’t lose them in the move. Things always dissappear when moving! But here is my damaged girl in progress one step closer to fin…..

Maddy

I was going into this thinking Prairie Faery theme, but now she says that her name is Madelaine and her friends call her “Maddy”. She likes Bonfires at night, going mudding in the Spring and fishing all year round.

I find all the time that a doll will develop its own personality when customizing. It is always an adventure to get know who she or he really is going to be when you are done.

Well back to packing for me. Wishing you all well!

California or Bust

Yes, that is right. We are moving to California next month. The decision was finalized last night and we plan to head to a sweet little house in Northern California the first week of October.

This puts us one giant, from the East Coast to the West Coast, step closer to our dream of moving to Oregon. Our plan is to stay at this lovely abode for about a year and move off from their to the beautiful state of Oregon.

We will be driving across the Country with kids, dog and cats pulling a trailer full of our lives behind us in the truck It should be quite the adventure!

I will be leaving my shop open during the cross country trip and mailing any purchases made upon our arrival to our new home between homes. Of course, I plan to comb beautiful alpaca locks during the ride. I should get quite a few locks ready to go during our road trip. Beautiful long alpaca fresh to offer upon our arrival!
