Yep. You heard right.
I have been talking to my Yahoo groups about the burrs and have been given so many wonderful solutions to the problem that I just had to give a try at fixing this fleece. It has some of the finest locks! ! I have already wrote her and thanked her for her willingness to exchange.
And, so this is what I propose to do. Sent to me from Luann:
Wash it in 1 cup dreft and 1 cup of denatured alcohol and the burrs pulled out so easy. I didn’t have to rewash the fleece either. It made them so soft that it didn’t hurt the fleece at all. I soaked the fleece all day in the solution using hot water in my top loader. After the day was up I then filled the tub up with warm water and soaked the fleece and then spun out the water. No agitation at all in the process for those that might have never washed a fleece and is new to washing fleece. I use this solution now for all my fleeces. It’s not cheap but I love the results.
Thank you, Luann. I’m going to try this out this weekend and I will let you all know how it works out. I’ll have to use my sink, as my washing machine is a bit shaky. I don’t suppose that would make a difference?
